Veetrirundha Perumal Maramangalam is an ancient temple with two inscriptions of Kulotunga Chola I (regnal years 1070 – 1122), one dating back to his 24th regnal year (1094 CE) on the south wall, and two on the west wall dating back to his 44th (1114 CE) and 47th regnal year (1117 CE).

Veetrirundha Perumal Maramangalam is about 18 kilometers southwest of Thoothukudi. On the Tiruchendur road while going from Thoothukudi, take a right after Pazhayakayal in the road going to Agaram and Maaramangalam. This is a small road and care is required. Going further ahead from this temple in the same road will take you to a small and ancient Shiva temple at Korkai.
