Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Shenkottai is a small and beautiful temple with a single Prakaram. The entrance is through a small gateway and gopuram in the east. The outer walls of the sanctum sanctorum have beautiful niches with some excellent carvings of deities and ornamental designs on them.

History

Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Shenkottai is an ancient temple as is evident from the several inscriptions found here around the sanctum walls. The details of the same are not available as of now. We were informed that the temple was built about 650 years ago by one Sundaravarman and contributions were made later by Chithira Thirunal.
