Ramaswamy Elamalai is a small temple that is in between two large rocks. There is another single standing lean rock that has a perennial water trickle in it. The name of the village Kuthukalvalasai where this temple is situated was from this rock (Kuthukal – standing/planted rock). Adjacent to this temple is an Amman temple.

Holy Water (Theertham) – Water trickling from the rock

Sacred Tree (Sthala Vriksham) – No information

Ramaswamy Elamalai is an old idol around which locals have built up the present temple.

Sages are believed to be in penance in the form of rocks here at Ramaswamy Elamalai. Lord Rama is believed to have come here during his wanderings in search of Sita.

Kuthukalvalasai is 5 kilometers north of Tenkasi on the Rajapalayam, Madurai. At the junction of the highways here take a left going towards Panpozhi and Ramaswamy Elamalai is about 700 meters on the left side of the road.
