Navaleeswarar Navalur is a beautiful east facing temple with a temple pond in front. The Lingam was discovered in earth by locals about 40 years ago and upon the advise of the Great Saint of Kancheepuram it was named Navaleeswarar after the name of the village Navalur. There is an Ayyappa temple adjacent to Navaleeswarar Navalur. The presence of Lord Vishnu in a separate shrine is an attraction too.

History

Navaleeswarar Navalur is a recently constructed temple, however the Shiva Lingam is considered old as it was discovered buried in earth some decades ago. All the other deities are of recent origin.
