Agasteeswarar Kodur is a large temple east facing temple in a spacious campus. The entrance is through a gate at the North. A single prakaram houses all the shrines and the Sanctum Sanctorum. The idols in the Sanctum Niches are all large and beautifully carved. Many stone inscriptions are found around the sanctum, but have been mindlessly painted over, though still visible. The temple tank is west of the temple and is large.
Holy Water (Theertham) – Temple tank
Sacred Tree (Sthala Vriksham) – Vilwam (Aegle marmelos)
Agasteeswarar Kodur is over 500 years old as told by the priest, but is definitely older going by the large amount of inscriptions all around.
