Kameswarar Madavilagam is a medium sized east facing temple with two Prakarams. The temple is reached through a large gateway in the south, outside which is a large idol of Surya Pillayar (Vinayaka). A small doorway is on the east that leads out to the street where the priest lives in the first house on the right. The temple is neglected and requires attention in various aspects. The interiors are infested with bats and the floors are carpeted with bat droppings. A carving of a boar is seen on the northern side of the inner prakaram wall around the sanctum. The Kalasam of Kameswarar Madavilagam was stolen by a person who fell from the top injuring himself badly. He, for some strange reason tied a rope to the heavy object, dragged and dumped in a pond nearby. This was discovered by someone who raised an alarm and the Kalasam was recovered. It is now kept inside without being installed. Many processional deities are present here in Kameswarar Madavilagam. There are four Theerthams, two of which are ponds – Thirukulam, adjacent in the north and Vellakulam in the south nearby. A large idol of Sage Vyagrapadar is installed here which is not very common.

Holy Water (Theertham) – Yama Theertham, Chandra Pushkarini, Thirukulam and Vellakulam

Sacred Tree (Sthala Vriksham) – Vilwam (Aegle marmelos)
