Thiruvaleeswarar Koovathur is an old east facing temple with a new 5 tiered Rajagopuram at the east. A large temple tank is present just outside and to the north east of the temple. Thiruvaleeswarar Koovathur is a well maintained beautiful temple. The Kumbabishekam was performed in 1913 and recently in 2017. The Lingam here is 16 faced.

Legend

Vaali, brother of Sugreeva of the Ramayana is believed to have worshiped the Lord here at Thiruvaleeswarar Koovathur.

Directions

Thiruvaleeswarar Koovathur is 3 kilometers on the ECR after you cross the Paalar Bridge while going from Chennai.

Stay and Food

None locally in any of the villages of this Taluk. A few restaurants are available only in the ECR.
