Kariamanicka Perumal Cheyyur is a small and old temple which has been refurbished in recent times and is maintained beautifully. The entrance is through a stone gateway in the east. A single Prakaram houses the sanctum and the shrines. About 10 feet below the tall Flagstaff is a small chamber where a gold coin with the images of a king and queen is kept in a slot. The Anjaneya shrine is separate and outside in the east.

Kariamanicka Perumal Cheyyur is an ancient temple, said to be from the Chola period, and has some stone inscriptions. An old carving of fish on the outer wall of the Sanctum also indicates Pandya patronage in the ancient past.
