Onakanthanthali a well maintained small temple with a 3 tier Rajagopuram at the entrance. The twin lord (Oneswarar and Kantheswarar) shrines are adjoining with a separate shrine for Salendareswarar. A temple tank is found nearby.

History

Sundarar (8th Century CE) has rendered hymns for the the lord here.

Legend

Onan and Kanthan, the two warlords of Vanasura are said to have worshiped the lord here with separate lingams. Sundarar is said to have received gold from the tamarind tree when he sang the praise of the Lord here.
