Gunamthandhanadar Oorkatpet is an ancient east facing temple with the entrance gateway in the south. A large and deep temple tank is located outside the entrance. The Lingam is large and majestic. The other lingams are located around the Prakaram, each with a separate Nandi in front. Gunamthandhanadar Oorkatpet is a beautiful and nicely maintained temple.

Gunamthandhanadar Oorkatpet is 5.5 kilometers from the Chennai – Thiruchirapalli Highway. Take a right onto the Chengalpet to Kancheepuram road and take a left near the Government Horticultural farm to cross the Paalar river and reach the temple. You can also reach by taking the immediate right after crossing the Paalar River.
