Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Madambakkam is an ancient east facing temple with a 3 tiered Rajagopuram at the east. in the front of the Rajagopuram images of Vinayaka and Kalinga Narthana are painted. Inside the Rajagopuram doorway are beautiful concrete images of Chakrathazhwar with the front and back images on either side. A single Prakaram encloses all the shrines and the Sanctum sanctorum. A Mantapam with old pillars and ceiling stones is in front of the sanctum. Ramanujar and Kalinganarthana are carved on one side of the Mantapam. The main deity is about 4 feet tall on a pedestal and is seen with Goddess Lakshmi seated in his lap. The Navagrahas have been installed in recent times and the idol of Surya is seen in his chariot in the center. Adjacent and in the north of the temple is a large Vasantha Mantapam.
