Sundaravaradarajar Vadakkupattu is an east facing temple with the entrance gateway in the east. A single spacious Prakaram houses the shrines and the Sanctum Sanctorum. The main deity is seen with Sridevi and Bhoodevi in a standing posture. There are a lot of flowering plants in the Prakaram. An ancient stone carving said to be that of Anjaneya is installed before the stone Dwajasthambam. A small closed gate at the west has access to the Lotus Pond behind. A row of Naagar shrines is seen outside in the south of the temple. Behind and after the pond is a Shiva Temple.
