Sivan Melpakkam is a small east facing temple with entrance from the south. The goddess faces you as you enter from the south. There are no idols in the sanctum niches. The temple constructed out of stone seems to be well attended to as it has been recently whitewashed. The temple tank is east of the temple and is also cleanly kept.

Sivan Melpakkam can be reached from Uthiramerur through two sides. One is via Manampathy, taking the road to Kancheepuram and taking a right at Perunagar before crossing Cheyyar River. This is about 20 kilometers. The other route is via the Magaral Road and taking a left at Kannikulam before crossing the Cheyyar River. This is about 15 kilometers from Uthiramerur. It is also possible to reach via village shortcut roads, but you need to navigate with our map below to reach.
