Kailasanadar Kandamangalam is a small east-facing temple with an entrance from the south. A small flight of steps leads up to the temple. The god and goddess can be seen from the same spot. The Lingam is a small one. The idol of Rajarajeswari being located along with her consort is said to be unique as normally the temples for Rajarajeswari are exclusive to her. The Navagraha are in a circle formation with Surya seen with his two consorts in the middle.
