Thirunavukkarasar (7th Century CE) has rendered Thevaram hymns here at Thirusakthimutham.
The goddess is believed to have derived immense happiness after performing pooja to the Lord, embraced and kissed him. Thus the name Thirusakthimutham – Thiru Sakthi (Goddess Parvati) Mutham (Kiss).
Thirusakthimutham temple is adjacent to the Patteeswaram temple. Patteeswaram is 6 kilometers southwest of Kumbakonam. This particular area has many temples around and we advise you to refer to our map below and plan.
Kumbakonam is the best option.
