Baleeswarar New Gummidipoondi is an east facing temple with an with an entrance Gopuram in the south which is broken up and has fallen down partly. The temple was also dilapidated to a large extent. Some work was taken up after the publishing of our blog at https://nsmohanakrishnan.wordpress.com/2010/09/03/sad-state-of-siva-temple-in-gummidipundi/
During our subsequent visit in 2018 though the compound wall was still not constructed, it was heartening to see that the sanctums had all been rebuilt and people had started coming in to worship.

Baleeswarar New Gummidipoondi is believed to be about 600 years. It could be even more from looking at architectural features and construction aspects. Unfortunately the renovation has inevitably completely destroyed the old structures. No historic information exists as of now.

Take a left just before the Gummidipundi railway station on the Kolkata highway, immediately after the Zion Church and drive for about a couple of kilometers to reach Baleeswarar New Gummidipoondi. The location is called New Gummidipundi. There are 2 other temples in the area and may be combined with them. The temples are in bad state and not open always.
Gummidipundi has some restaurants, but nothing great
