Somanatheeswarar Vellikaram Temple is a beautiful east facing temple. The Lingam is with 16 bands around it. Lord Murugan’s footprint is at a Temple atop in a nearby hill. Arunagirinadhar has sung 9 hymns in praise of Lord Muruga here. The surroundings are wonderful and evenings here would be a pleasant experience.

Somanatheeswarar Vellikaram is 4 kms from Pallipattu in the Pallipattu- Ramakrishnarajupet Road. Take a right before the river bridge and proceed for 2 kms to reach Somanatheeswarar Vellikaram at the base of the hill. You have to climb up on foot  for the Muruga footprint temple.
