Brahmapureeswarar Thirupattur is an east facing with 5 tier Rajagopuram and has many excellent, intricate sculptures and pillars. The Goddess is in a separate east facing shrine. The main Lingam is 16 striped and the shrine has a wooden ceiling. A separate shrine for Brahma in a beautiful sitting posture (Padmasana) on a lotus can be seen here. The holy trinity of Hindusim is present here. 7 entrances lead to the sanctum sanctorum, signifying the 7 days of the week. Natural light fills the sanctum and the Deity can be seen clearly from the main entrance. Rays from the Sun falls directly on the main deity three days in a year – 15th, 16th and 17th day of the Tamil month of Panguni (March-April). The complex houses all the 12 Lingams worshiped by Lord Brahma.

Brahmapureeswarar Thirupattur is about 18 kilometers from Thiruchirapalli on the Chennai highway. Take a left at Siruganur to reach this temple
