Viswamitreswarar Kaarai is probably an old temple which has been lost through time. The Lingam is large and installed under a thatched roof when we visited in 2013. Viswamitreswarar Kaarai is situated beautifully situated in the banks of the Palar River’s north bank.

Directions
From Ranipet proceed for about a kilometer on the Chittoor road and take the left at a fork to reach Kaarai. From there ask the way to the river bank and locate Viswamitreswarar Kaarai which is nothing more than a thatched roof shack. The location of Viswamitreswarar Kaarai is actually called Nallak.
