Thiruarasili is an ancient temple and Thevaram hymns have been rendered to the lord here by Thirugnanasambandar. There is no Rajagopuram and the temple has been renovated recently.

Thiruarasili is over 1300 years and Thevaram hymns have been rendered to the lord here by Thirugnanasambandar (7th Century CE).
Sage Vamadeva prayed and received the blessings of the Lord here at Thiruarasili. The lord is believed to have challenged the Chalukya King Sathyavaradhan in the form of a Deer. Thiruarasili has been praised in the Padmapuranam.
Thiruarasili is in the Tindivanam – Pondichery road on the left after Thailapuram in a village called Ozhindiyapattu. It is about 2 kilometeres off the main road.
