Aadhi Valeeswarar Villupuram is a small east-facing temple with a narrow gateway entrance from the east. As you walk down are the shrines of Kalaimagal, Krishna, and Lakshmi Vinayaka. The front Mantapa has idols of Perumal, Anjaneya, Sekkizhar, Surya, and 63 Nayanmars. The single Prakaram houses all the other shrines and the sanctum Sanctorum. You can see the Lord and his south-facing consort from the same spot. There are separate shrines behind the sanctum for the 12 Jyotir Lingams – Somanatha Lingam, Mallikarjuna Lingam, Mahakaleswara Lingam, Omkareswara Lingam, Vaithyanatha Lingam, Bheemasankara Lingam, Rameswara Lingam, Nageswara Lingam, Viswanatha Lingam, Dharmakeswara Lingam, Kedareswara Lingam, Krishneswara Lingam. There is a large temple tank to the north of the temple.

Aadhi Valeeswarar Villupuram is an ancient temple as is evident from the old idols found in the sanctum niches and a large number of stone inscriptions found all around the Sanctum Sanctorum walls.

Aadhi Valeeswarar Villupuram is near the town center on the south side of the Large Temple Tank and located south of the town bus stand.
Villupuram has a few restaurants. Stay if required would be in the hotels outside on the highway.
