Kasi Viswanathar Villianur is a small and beautiful temple located in a lonely spot. The east-facing temple’s entrance is through a 3 tiered Rajagopuram in the east. A single Prakaram houses all the shrines and the Sanctum Sanctorum. The temple has been renovated recently and maintained well. There is an entrance in the south with the Lord and his consort on top of Adhikara Nandi that is kept closed. The Sankarabarani River flows very close and south of the river.

Kasi Viswanathar Villianur is 2.5 kilometers southeast of Villianur. Villianur is about 7.5 kilometers southwest of Pondicherry on the Villupuram road that goes onwards via Koliyanoor. If you are coming from the Pondicherry side take a left at Arumparthapuram and the temple is on the right before you cross the bridge over the Sankarabarani River.
