Thiruveswarar Singalandapuram is an east-facing temple with an entrance from a gateway on the east side. There are tile-roofed mandapams on both sides of the entrance. The prakaram is spacious with a stone Dwajasthambam, Balipeedam, and Nandi in front. Straight ahead is the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity with a Mahamandapam and Ardha Mandapam in the front part. The shrine of the goddess is separate on the north side of the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity. It is facing east with an open mandapam in front followed by an Ardha Mandapam.

History

Thiruveswarar Singalandapuram is an ancient temple as is evident from some of the idols and the inscriptions found on the base of the sanctum sanctorum outer side. Below the Nandi Mandapam, there is an idol of a King and a carving of his queens, probably the one who built or developed the temple. The details of these inscriptions are not available as of now.
