Here Anjaneya and Ganesha can be viewed from the same spot which is an important aspect. Sunlight falls on the Lingam for 15 days in the Tamil Maasi month. It is a Navagraha Sthalam and represents Raghu-Kethu.

Aadhipureeswarar Pallikaranai temple was built in Chola period and stone inscriptions mentions this place as Jayamkonda Chola Mandalam. Many stone inscriptions have been found here including one mentioning Krishnadevaraya’s services in 1725. The ancient temple deteriorated over time and recently the locals joined hands to form a trust and revived it.
