Amaneeswarar, Gopurapatti is under the control of Archaelogical Survey of India. This ancient temple has various stone inscriptions and excellent idols. The old Nandi can be seen half excavated. The lingam is on a flat and square Aavudayar and has many small depictions carved. The vaishnavite priest here was very cordial. The temple is open only for some time in the mornings and evenings. A very clean and well laid out pathway and campus welcomes you. There is no Gopuram at the entrance. Scenes from the Ramayana are carved on the walls around the shrine.

Amaneeswarar, Gopurapatti was constructed around 975 CE. It has various inscriptions belonging to the times of Uthama Chola, Rajaraja I and Rajendra I. Sembian Mahadevi, wife of Gandaraditya Chola and mother of Uthama Chola has gifted lamps to the temple.
