Thikurichi is a beautiful small temple situated atop the banks of the Tamiraparani River. The temple has two Prakarams. The inner Prakaram is for religious circumambulation and people are not allowed around. The Sanctum Sanctorum is reached through a Mahamantapam and Ardha Mandapam. The main deity is a small Lingam. The pillars in the Mantapam have some nice carvings. The outer Prakaram has lot of flowering plants and trees.

Legend

Thikurichi is the second temple where Bhima dropped the Rudraksha seed to slow down the creature chasing him when he was on a mission to procure its milk for a Yaga.
