Kailasanadar Sayalkudi is a small east-facing temple with a large Temple tank in front of the entrance. There are two entrance gates in the front one each facing the main deity and the goddess. But only the one in front of the main deity is normally open. The temple is situated in a single Prakaram. The shrine of the goddess is a separate one facing east. The sanctum sanctorum has a small Maha Mandapam and Ardha Mandapam in front. The shrine of Ayyappa is a separate later addition. The Prakaram has plenty of trees and is overgrown with plants.
