Santhaleswarar Kancheepuram is an ancient east facing temple. A Temple tank is present in front of the entrance gateway. The Nandi here is different as it has one of the legs in a raised position. The ears of the Nandi are built as screws that attach on to the body. To prevent damage the same has been covered with grills now. Santhaleswarar Kancheepuram has a single prakaram in which all deities and shrines are enclosed. Sage Vyasa is depicted praying to the Lord here in the Vimaana.

Sage Vyasa is believed to have installed and worshiped the lord here. A Vyasa Peedam carving installed here in the Prakaram alongside Vinayaka has Vinayaka, Muruga, Vishnu Durga and Vyasa in it.

Santhaleswarar Kancheepuram is situated in the Arappanacheri area and near the Pachayappas Womens College. The concrete streets here are very narrow and we recommend you refer our map below to reach the temple. The temple can be reached from a couple of directions including one from the road going to Thirukachi from the town center, take a right just before Manikanteswarar Temple.
