Sidheeswarar Kancheepuram is a small temple inside Kancheepuram town and well maintained. The Shiva Lingam here is unbelievably large!

Sidheeswarar Kancheepuram is an ancient temple but the historical information of this temple is not known as on date.


Goddess Parvathi smeared herself in Turmeric and immersed herself in the Kamba River making the waters run yellow. Pleased Lord Shiva appeared as a Lingam and was called Manjalneerkoothar. Many Sidhdhars used to visit and attained salvation changing the name to Sidhdheeswarar.
